A Time for Reflection
As these difficult times we find ourselves in are impacting on our lives, and living in 12 weeks isolation is proving not to provide as much time to paint as I thought it would, I’ve decided to take some time out to concentrate on the difficult task of keeping nutritious food cooked and on our table, and sourcing those elusive delivery slots! As well as the rigorous cleaning regime needed in these challenging times.
I’ve also not been very happy with my last three pieces of artwork, the soul has gone out of my painting, probably because of the tragedy all around the world affecting my emotions much more deeply than I first thought. My passion for pastels deserted me with my last piece, Purple Pansies. What a disaster that was! I normally find solace in my art, and I know I still will when I get to grips with my overactive mind.
So, I’m going to revisit painting mediums I haven’t used for ages, try new subject matters, dabble with abstracts, experiment with new techniques.....and try to rekindle my creativity.
And as I begin this inner journey, I hope you’ll travel with me as I post new work in its stages through to completion. I’d welcome any feedback along the way too - what works, what doesn’t, what you like or dislike.
Thanks! 😊🎨👩🏻🎨
