SOME NEW PRINTED ITEMS

I’ve been getting a lot of renewed interest in my artwork recently, thanks to Facebook, and one particular page called ‘Northumbrian Coastline’. There are thousands of members who follow that page from all around the world. Not only people who live in our beautiful county, but many who have lived here in the past and have moved away, or have friends and family who live here and whom they have visited, falling in love with our awe inspiring castles, landscapes and beaches.

It all started when I posted a picture of one of my paintings, Seaton Sluice Harbour, on the page. As a result I’ve had a lot of enquiries about whether I sell my art, and many orders for prints and greetings cards, I’ve even sold my latest oil painting of Bamburgh Castle to a lady from the USA, whose parents live in North Seaton, near Ashington. I’ve been very uplifted by all this, this has been a very good year for my art. It started well in January with my exhibition at Newbiggin Maritime Centre, where I sold a framed print, and continued well into March with the sale of a lot of my original paintings to one very nice lady, who has been my best customer so far. Because of this recent success, and the fact that this rather sad period in the lives of many during this pandemic has seemed to bring about an upsurge in the appreciation of uplifting art, I’ve been contemplating once more whether it’s worth the expense and effort of opening an online shop, or again looking into the feasibility of starting to exhibit and sell at art and craft fairs, as long as my health permits, which was always something I used to enjoy.

With these things in mind, plus the need to have a print made that someone has ordered from me, I decided to contact a local print company to find out more about their printed products. This morning I received my first order, the mounted print that’s already sold, and a sample pack of many of the items they sell. I’m delighted with them all, they are of really high quality, and if I go down the route of an online shop, or future art fairs, then I know where to go for stock. Here is a selection of what I’ve had printed.
